Security Framework
Security is a core pillar of LiQ, ensuring that DeFi-native yield strategies remain resilient, efficient, and protected against vulnerabilities. Unlike traditional staking models that rely on validators, LiQ exclusively interacts with DeFi protocols, requiring a multi-layered security approach to safeguard assets.
Smart Contract Security – LiQ’s smart contracts undergo independent third-party audits, internal reviews, and formal verification to eliminate vulnerabilities. Critical security measures include reentrancy protection, permissioned access control, and immutable contract logic. Circuit breakers and fail-safes allow emergency response mechanisms to pause specific functions if needed.
Protocol Risk Management – To mitigate risks associated with DeFi exposure, LiQ employs dynamic risk monitoring across smart contract, market, liquidity, and economic risks. The protocol continuously tracks yield performance, adjusts strategy allocations, and implements withdrawal limits to prevent large-scale capital outflows in volatile conditions.
Oracle & Price Feed Security – LiQ relies on Chainlink’s decentralized oracles and redundant price feeds to prevent manipulation attacks, including flash loan-based exploits. Time-Weighted Average Price (TWAP) calculations are used to smooth price fluctuations, ensuring that redemptions and asset valuations remain stable.
Security in the Redemption Process – Since stMNT redemptions involve capital flows from DeFi strategies, LiQ employs pre-redemption verification, multi-layered withdrawals, and DEX liquidity monitoring to avoid arbitrage-driven withdrawals and slippage-related risks. The LiQ Buffer Mechanism ensures that redemptions can be processed with minimal impact on protocol stability.
Governance Security & Decentralization – LiQ operates under decentralized governance, enforcing time-locked proposals, multi-signature approvals, and hierarchical access controls to prevent unauthorized protocol modifications. Governance members oversee strategy allocations, treasury spending, and security interventions when needed.
Incident Response & Bug Bounties – LiQ integrates automated threat detection systems and an emergency response framework that allows immediate action against potential exploits.
